CARGO

 
Bellview airlines Cargo operations are about cargo consolidation, distribution and  quality control documentation in accordance with IATA safety  regulations and procedures.
 
SAFETY AND SECURITY; The security of any consignment/cargo checked in with Bellview Airlines is of paramount important and shall be treated as such. All measures shall be taken to prevent theft, pilferage or loss. The consignment shall also be prevented from being affected by weather, such as rain, sun and other things that can destroy it. Basically, all cargoes that can not meet up with the flight shall be kept in a safe place for the next flight.
 
ACCEPTANCE: The process of accepting cargo in Bellview Airlines is as follows:-
 
Step 1; The cargo shall be taken to NACHO shed incase of WEST COAST flights and or SAHCOL shed for intercontinental flights, for consolidation. So as to confirm the weight, quantity and the nature of the consignment, in the presence of all the assigned government agencies e.g. customs,Faan, NDLEA.
 
Step 2; It shall pass through screening to ensure that the contents are not dangerous goods or goods that can pose a threat to the flight and the passengers on board.
 
Step 3  A shipper’s letter of instructions , where the details of information containing the shippers name, consignee name and address, mark and label of the consignment, quantity and handling method required are stated, shall be issued to the clients or it agents. This will be completed and returned for AWB to be issued.
 
Step 4; The total weight and the amount payable shall be written on the reverse side of the sipper’s letter of instructions (SLI). This shall be used as payment advise for the clients or
Their agents for payment in our cash office.
 
Step 5; After the payment an AWB shall be raised and the copies shall be issued and distributed accordingly
 
PHYSICAL HANDLING; At NACHO/SAHOL after physical examination and having paid all the necessary handling charges to the government agencies, such as customs, NDLEA, NACHO/SAHCOL, NAFDAC, ANTI-BOMB, FAAN, etc, the consignment shall be transferred to export warehouse of the NACHO/SAHCOL as the case may be and be brought to the foot of aircraft for loading when it is time for the flight.
 
DOCUMENTATIONS;  The necessary documents, such as invoice, shippers’ letter of  instructions, Awb, Manifest and others as it may applied shall be attached.
 
IDENTIFICATIONS; For the purpose of identification and clearing at loading point and destination office, a cargo sticker, where the AWB number for each shipper, destination station and number of pieces stated shall be placed on the cargo before palletized or containerized as the case may be.
 
STORAGE AND STOWAGE; The cargo, while waiting to be airlifted shall be kept in a cool, dry place safe from rain or excessive sunlight, which can damaged the cargo. On the flight day, the cargo shall be loaded first come; first serve basis and the left-over if any shall be safely kept for the next flight, consolidation of new cargo may be suspended until the left-over is cleared.
 
SPECIAL CARGO
The cargo specified below fall under special cargo.
 
(1)Dangerous Goods; Bellview airlines shall not in anyway accept dangerous goods or any goods that can pose treat to the aircraft or passenger on board.
 
(2) Live Animals; Bellview airlines shall not accept live animals for carriage as cargo.
 
(3) Perishables; Perishable goods shall be accepted with undertaking from shippers or their agents such items will be cleared not later than one hour of the arrival. Bellview airlines shall not be liable for any damage of any cargo not cleared after one hour of arrival.
 
(4)HUMAN REMAINS; Human Remain shall be accepted on local, west coast and intercontinental flight. In addition to the general cargo requirements the following conditions shall be met:-
(i)                  the shipper shall provide embalmment certificate from hospitals
(ii)               Death certificate.
(iii)            Authority letter from embassy of the destination country permitting Bellview airlines to airlift the body.
(iv)            The human remain must be accompanied by a passenger whose ticket has been confirmed for the same flight on which human remain is booked.
 
(5) Valuable Cargo; Valuable cargo such as gold, jewelries, bank consignments shall be accepted and kept in a strong room where the security can watch, however, the shipper or it agent must have declared such for proper charging and handling information.
 
(6) Outsized Cargo; Outsized cargo shall be accepted based on the operating aircraft. In the case where by the volume of the cargo is more than the actual weight, chargeable weight shall be applied.
